How we check photo specs

Every size, pixel count, background and file limit on VisaSize comes from the issuing authority, its embassies or its own portal, never from another photo site. Each document page links its sources and shows the date we last checked them.

Where the numbers come from

  • The authority's own website, notice or form instructions.
  • An embassy, consulate or the authority's appointed visa centre, when the authority itself publishes nothing.
  • The portal's own upload screen, for pixel and file-size limits.

When sources disagree

We show the stricter rule and explain the difference in a "Good to know" note on the page. Where an authority publishes no value (for example no pixel size), we say so, and say which value VisaSize uses and why.

Checked dates

Each page shows the date its sources were last checked. When a rule changes, the page changes: every size on the site is read from one spec file per document, so a correction reaches every page at once.

Our limits

Photos are made to the published specification. The authority makes the final decision, and an officer can still ask for another photo. Spotted a change? Email hello@visasize.com.
