ICP lists the photo for entry permits as "size 4/6" with a white background. For residence visas and the Emirates ID the photo is 35 × 45 mm instead.
ICP does not publish a pixel size or a file-size limit for uploads, so the file here is made at 600 dpi.

- 04Download the online file, or the print sheet for a photo shop or typing centre.
The rules
- Recent colour photo, taken in the last 6 months.
- Plain white background, no shadows.

Good to know
- ICP's services guide lists the entry-permit photo as "size 4/6" (also written "6/4") with a white background, for about 16 entry-permit services. VisaSize reads this as 4 × 6 cm. 40 mm also meets ICP's 35–40 mm photo width rule.
- ICP gives no separate head size for entry permits. VisaSize uses ICP's ICAO rule (face 70–80% of the photo) and aims for the middle: about 75%.
- For residence visas, Emirates ID and UAE passports, use the 35 × 45 mm photo instead.
- ICP publishes no pixel size or file-size limit for photo uploads. VisaSize exports at 600 dpi as a high-quality file.
- 43 × 55 mm and 300 × 369 px are numbers from photo-tool websites. They do not appear in any ICP or GDRFA source.
- ICP's older photo leaflet says "light-coloured" background. ICP's current service pages, its FAQ, u.ae and GDRFA all say white, so VisaSize uses white only.
