The rules

  • Clear front view, no hat.

Good to know

  • Japan's missions do not all use the same size. In India the Embassy of Japan asks for 45 × 45 mm (its own page outranks the visa centre's 35 × 45 mm); in the UAE the visa centre asks for 35 × 45 mm. Check the mission where you apply.
